Series III Binary Gradient System
The Series III Binary Gradient System features a Series II and Series III digital pump, Model 500 variable wavelength UV Detector, and HPLC Control software. For reproducible mixing characteristics, a static mixer forms part of the high-pressure binary gradient mixing kit. An injection valve with a 20 uL loop, an injector bracket, C-18 column, a column holder, nuts, ferrules, and tubing complete the system.
Includes ONE (1) YEAR WARRANTY.
| Functionality and Flexibility |
|
During operation, the Series III pump LED displays the current flow rate or pressure. The easy-to-use keypad allows you to set flow rates and upper and lower pressure limits quickly. The detector LED displays absorbance or lamp energy levels. Simply dial in the desired wavelength, sensitivity, and rise time on the detector auto-zero, and you are ready to run.
Using the standard RS232C connectors on the back of the pumps, any combination of Series II and III pumps may be used to form a gradient system. This flexibility means that a Series II and a Series III pump can be combined to give a fully interactive system with pressure feedback and max/min pressure trips at an unrivaled price. Add two more pumps and you have quaternary high-pressure gradient capability! |
| High performance at an affordable cost |
|
The proven single-piston design and pulse damping give the Series II and III the performance of the most expensive pumps at a fraction of the cost.
The Series III Binary Gradient is available in Type 316 stainless steel or metal-free, biocompatible Bioclean™(PEEK) fluid path. |
| Meets your performance requirements |
|
The Series III Pump features an advanced design rapid-refill cam and a patented low volume diaphragm-type pulse damper, giving minimal baseline noise and low pulsation, to meet the requirements of the most demanding applications. The pumps are controlled via RS-232 cables provided with the system.
The Model 500 UV/VIS Detector features high sensitivity with selectable absorbance ranges from 0.0005 to 2.0 AUFS. A second-order Bessel filter, fiber optics, and proprietary circuits ensure low-noise, low-drift performance. A prealigned deuterium lamp is standard; an optional tungsten lamp is available. The analog output of the detector may be hooked up to any data collection system. |
| Connecting the pumps to your PC |
|
Connecting the pumps could not be easier. All you need is two free COM ports on your PC, running Windows® 95/98/NT. The gradient control kit comes complete with software and two pump cables - one standard cable, and one cable with external start. The second pump control cable provides contact closure start from an injector or relay contact from an autosampler. An optional pump interface box, MPX, allows the user to connect 2-4 pumps using only one COM port of the PC. The system may then be easily upgraded to ternary or quaternary gradient by adding pumps. |
| Software operation |
|
Anyone who has used Windows-based software will be able to operate this system within ten minutes of installation. With an additional "click and edit" user-friendly graphic control feature, the setting up and running of solvent gradients is wholly intuitive. |
